WHO ARE YOU?
I am a BACP Registered Accredited relationship counsellor bringing twenty years’ experience of counselling couples and individuals.
My early training was with Relate which was an integrated training but predominantly a psychodynamic approach. I have continued to follow my interest in psychodynamic couple therapy studying at an advanced level at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships(TCCR) in London. I was awarded an MA (with merit) in Attachment ,Psychoanalysis and the Couple Relationship from TCCR in February 2010.
I am an Accredited Couple Therapy for Depression IAPT practitioner working in a primary care setting offering couple therapy as a treatment for depression, when depression is impacting on the couple relationship.
I have an Advanced Specialist Fertility Counselling Diploma from the National Fertility Society and am able to offer support and therapeutic counselling for individuals and couples who are experiencing fertility issues or are undergoing fertility treatment.
I have held a private practice for over eight years working with couples and individuals who are experiencing relationship difficulties.
HOW YOU WORK?
I offer longer term work for those couples that wish to explore how past relationships patterns impact on their current relationships.
I am also able to offer shorter term work for couples who require a more focused behavioural approach to their difficulties.
Relationship therapy can also be helpful for couples who are planning to separate and for individuals whose relationship has ended due to a bereavement or divorce.
Sessions are of 50 minute duration and are arranged so that we meet on the same day and at the same time each week.
It is usual to pay for missed sessions.
YOUR CORE VALUES WHAT ARE THEY?
I work according to the BACP Ethical Framework.
Working with clients and helping them in the ways that they want to be helped is at the heart of what I do and the reason why I work in this field. My clients are at the forefront of any ethical and clinical decisions I am required to make in my practice.
WHAT THERAPIES DO YOU OFFER?
I offer a predominantly psychodynamic approach in my work with couples , (including same sex ) and with individuals when the partner is unwilling or unable to attend sessions.
I also work with fertility and bereavement issues
I am offering Skype (From £65) sessions with a view to offering face to face sessions at a later date.
